Véndiófa Csárda is one of the region’s most distinctive gems: a place where tradition, history, and Hungarian gastronomy meet to create a unique atmosphere that brings our guests back again and again.
Long ago, a noble house with a large old walnut tree stood where the restaurant is today. According to local legend, the famous poet from Debrecen, Pál Gulyás, often rested in the shade of this tree, and it may even have inspired his poem “The Storming Walnut Tree.”
The Csárda opened its doors in 1955, and in 2003 it received its current, traditional appearance. Since then, our mission has remained unchanged: to preserve the spirit of Hajdúság hospitality and offer every guest a genuine, heartfelt experience.
Our restaurant can comfortably host 130 guests indoors, and from spring to autumn our terrace allows us to welcome up to 210 guests. Whether it is a family celebration, a friendly gathering, or a corporate event, every occasion finds the right setting here.
Every dish in our kitchen pays tribute to Hungarian traditions. Our meals are inspired by the flavors of the Hajdúság region, while modern techniques and careful preparation ensure high quality. In the courtyard, guests can also see our open fire cooking area and traditional oven, where authentic Hungarian dishes are prepared.
Because here you will experience more than just a meal – you will take part in a journey through time. Within our walls, the stories of the past live on, while the flavors of the present come alive on your plate. In every bite you can feel the calm of the countryside, the warmth of home, and the joy of shared moments.
Dear Guests, unfortunately pets – including dogs – are not allowed inside the restaurant. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
